Common Sense Education provides high-quality digital literacy and citizenship programs to educators and school communities. Together, we work to empower students to harness technology for learning and life. Our free resources include ratings and reviews of digital tools, a comprehensive K–12 Digital Citizenship Curriculum, ready-made lesson plans, videos, webinars, and more. -taken from https://www.commonsensemedia.org/about-us/our-mission
At Cline Elementary we believe that technology can be a great enhancer to lessons and content that our teachers are teaching. We also know that we must use it in a responsible way and model that to our students. Our school has been a Common Sense Education certified school since 2015. Although these lessons are taught throughout the year we do spend a week in October where the whole district focuses on Digital Citizenship. The district invites guest speakers to come and talk with students about their digital footprint and offers and an evening session for the community to participate in as well. This year Josh Ochs of SafeSmartSocial.com is our guest speaker. You can register to attend this free event here.

Tech Tools
In FISD, our teachers are provided with an extensive list of apps that they can request to be added to their classroom ipads. We often have many parents wanting to know what apps we are using in the classroom. Although there are many apps that are used frequently by teachers, occasionally a teacher will request a specific app to enhance a lesson. Below is the app catalog that was created for teachers in grades PK -5 for the Spring of 2017. Please note that this list is extensive and most classrooms only have a handful of apps on their ipads. This is also a fluid document and therefor it changes regularly. We hope by sharing this it will help you to narrow down the choices when it comes to educational apps. It is also a great way to find out what apps your student is using in their class (they will be able to point it out).
