This week Mr. Norman introduced several classes to virtual reality. FISD obtained these viewers last Spring through funding provided by the Legends of Friendswood . In second grade students were studying states of matter. The viewers were used to explore a volcano and observe multiple states of matter. In first grade students observed animals in their habitats. We are very excited to have these viewers on campus and provide our students the opportunity to take the curriculum to the next level. The viewers will be on our campus for a short period of time and then will be rotated to other campuses in the district.
In addition to the virtual reality viewers Mr. Norman was also visiting classrooms and showing students how to get their SeeSaw accounts set up and make their first posts. If your child's teacher has sent home a QR code for this program please download it, you will love being able to get updates throughout the week of what your child is learning in class. There are so many great lessons that don't come home on a worksheet and we have found this to be an excellent tool to allow students to share their learning with friends and family.
Mr. Norman is the campus iCoach for Cline and Windsong. His role is to assist teachers with instructional technology. You can follow him on Twitter at @JNorman04
