For the past week Mrs. Biela (our campus i-coach) and I have been teaching students about databases. We started our discussion with an explanation to students about WHY they should not be using google to research and why we encourage them to use one of the databases that we have provided them. It is very important when working with students in grade K-3 for them to find that 'just right' database for them. The second part of our lesson focused on showing students the ins and outs of each database. Last we handed students ipads and had them login to the appropriate database for them and spend 15 minutes exploring and becoming familiar with the database. For students in grade K-1 we explored PebbleGo. Students in grades 2-3 explored WorldBook Online. More information about these databases and others can be found under the Resources page.

Hello 2016! 2015 was a year of change in the Cline Library. Our dated library received a much need makeover. Heavy static furniture was swapped out for lightweight mobil pieces. In addition, the floor plan has been layed out to accommodate multiple classes and projects simultaneously. I am excited to use this blog to communicate the events and day to day operations of our school library. Before PicturesAfter Pictures |
